Jim Moss learned to read by reading Boy’s Life. At age 7 he enrolled in the Cub Scouts, moved on to Boy Scouting & with the help of parents & Earl van Kirk Jr. became an Eagle Scout. He was the Regional Vice Chief of the OA & a Vigil member & attended three National OA Conferences as a youth. That lifelong love of the outdoors continued through 9 years of working at BSA Summer Camps, a degree in Environmental Interpretation & a career in the outdoors. His first job after college was as a District Executive for the BSA in Wheeling WV. Jim has worked on staff of two National Jamborees, attended two Philmont treks, staffed five National Law Enforcement Exploring Conferences, one National Exploring Conference, BSA SAR conference staff, & held most of the volunteer positions in Scouting & Exploring. Jim is the son of an Eagle Scout, the brother of an Eagle Scout & the uncle to an Eagle Scout as well as the son of two Wood Badgers & two Silver Beavers. Jim is an attorney in Littleton and the author of five books and contributed to the BSA Fieldbook.

Dana has been a scouter for 16 years. During that time he has been very involved at the troop, district, & council levels. He has held numerous positions in 2 troops & is currently involved with Troop 640. At the district level, Dana has been involved with Roundtable, multiple Camporee staffs, & Nominating Committee chair. Dana has been very busy at the council level with Big Horn (Scoutmaster, ASM, & medic) multiple years, 2010 & 2013 Jamboree (ASM), 2 Wood Badge staffs, Vice Chairman Logistics for the 2012 Council Camporee, & Chairman of the 2015 Council Camporee at Peaceful Valley. He is also involved with the Order of the Arrow as Cony Party staff, Lodge Advisor, & Associate Lodge Advisor. Dana has received the following awards: Outstanding Scouter (twice), District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, & the Order of the Arrow-Vigil Honor.
Steve has been a scouter for 16 years. In addition to being the district commissioner, he is the COR for Pack 608, Troops 538 & 685, & Crew 519. Steve’s service to scouting also includes Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner, Training Lead for Special Needs District, member of the Council Activities Committee, & Big Horn staff (2010-2016). He was a participant on Wood Badge course WE5-61-3-08 & staffed course W2-61-14-2. Steve has received the District Award of Merit, Distinguished Commissioner Award, & Silver Beaver.
Asst. District Commissioner-Roundtable
Scott was involved in scouts as a youth in Lakewood, CO. All 6 of his sons were involved with scouts and 2 achieved Eagle rank. He started his scouter “career” in 1988 as a Webelos Den Leader. Since that time he has been a Cubmaster, Pack Committee Chair, Scoutmaster (of the troop he joined as a youth), Unit Commissioner, Asst. District Commissioner, and 5 years as the Timberline District Commissioner, stepping down in May 2016. He is currently the Assistant Council Commissioner for Scoutbook. Scott has received numerous awards including: National President’s Scoutmaster Award, DAC’s John R. Kullman Award, Distinguished Commissioner Service Award, Arrowhead Award, District Award of Merit, and Silver Beaver.
Boy Scout Roundtable
John has a total 42 years as a scout and scouter. He has five sons who are Eagle Scouts. John has staffed & been a course director for Wood Badge, and attended & staffed Philmont Leadership Challenge. John has trekked Philmont 8+ times & gone on numerous 50 milers (afoot & afloat). He is currently scoutmaster of Troop 380 & Cub Scout Day Camp Director. John has received the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, & is a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Cub Scout Roundtable
Jon has been with the Timberline District since his son Michael became a Cub Scout in 2013. The following year he began to take over Cubmaster duties for Pack 847. After attending the Fall Wood Badge course in 2016, he decided to volunteer at the District level. He now serves as a Unit Commissioner, Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner, and Assistant District Commissioner for Youth Protection Training. He is also a member of the District’s Training Team and a Senior Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 640.
Kimberly has been involved as a scouter for 12 years & as a youth for 3 years. In addition to Roundtable, she is the ADC for Venturing & the Venturing Trainer. Participant Wood Badge Course May 2015, Wood Badge Staff Fall 2016.
DeWayne has been involved with scouting for 17 years as a youth & adult. His scouting experience started as a youth scout while growing up in Anchorage Alaska, though having the wonderful Alaska wilderness in his backdoor he did not actually become an Eagle Scout himself. After moving to Colorado in 2006, he became involved in adult scout leadership when his son joined as a Tiger scout in 2008. DeWayne has held committee and de facto positions on the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, & District levels. He is currently involved with Troop 685 and Crew 519. His other scouting leadership roles have included; Assistant Den Leader, Pack Trainer, Cub Scout Camp Commisioner, Troop Equipment Coordinator, District Camporee support, Scout Show Chair, Crew Associate Advisor, Crew Equipment Coordinator, Council Camporee logistics support, Scout Show Logistics, District Program Chair.
Mike was a Cub Scout and made it to Arrow of Light. He is currently the Cubmaster of Pack 572 & Webelos Den leader. Mike has completed all required training and Wood Badge course W2-61-15-1.

Kathy has been involved with scouting, as a youth & a scouter, for 32 years. When her son wanted to join Cub Scouts, she volunteered as the Tiger Cub Coach & moved to new positions as her son continued thru scouts. Positions outside of the pack or troop include: program director of Timberline day camp, district dinner committee, Cub Scout & Boy Scout Roundtable commissioner, & 2015 Camporee publicity deputy. Kathy attended Wood Badge course WE5-61-06 & has staffed five Wood Badge courses. She attended Philmont Leadership Challenge in 2009. Kathy has receive the District Award of Merit, Distinguished Commissioner Award, & Silver Beaver.

Charles has been involved in Scouting since he was 12 years old. Highly motivated by his three older Eagle Scout brothers, Charles earned his Eagle rank as a 15-year old from Troop 12 in Rialto, California. During his scouting career, he has held a variety of positions to include summer camp counselor, assistant scoutmaster, troop committee chairman, venturing advisor, Order of the Arrow chapter and lodge positions, and various district positions. Charles retired to Colorado after 21 years in the United States Army as a commissioned officer.
Order of the Arrow / Adult Recognition
Bill was a scout for 12 years in Denver Area Council. During that time he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with Silver Palm & Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow. As a youth he staffed at Peaceful Valley, Brownsea 22 & TLD. As an adult, Bill has been involved as a scouter in three different councils since 2001: Western Colorado Council, Occoneechee Council (Raleigh, NC), & Denver Area Council holding many positions at the unit, district & council levels including den leader, Roundtable commissioner, unit commissioner, council membership committee chair (NC), and OA chapter advisor. He attended Wood Badge in North Carolina. Bill has been awarded the District Award of Merit (twice), James E West Fellow, & Distinguished Commissioner Award.
Asst. District Commissioner to Evergreen Packs / Day Camp Registrar
Melissa is a second-generation commissioner, providing support for Cub Scout packs in Evergreen and lending a hand to other packs in the mountain area (Conifer, Pine, Bailey). She serves the district as the day camp registrar and transcribing the annual fireside chat; at the council level, she also serves as the registrar for University of Scouting and College of Commissioner Science. Outside of Scouting, she works in K-12 education and supports workflow management for the state affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English.
Amy serves the council as Chaplain Aide Training Chair & as a member of the Venturing & Aquatics Committees. She serves the district as a District Committee member, Venturing Committee member-at-large. Her previous service includes den leader, pack committee chair, troop committee member & Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner. She is a member of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, Clan MacLaren Society of North America (Clan Regional Wood Badge Coordinator) & the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (Division BSA/CGAux Liaison). Amy has staffed at PTC & served on Regional Stage Staff at the 2010 National Scout Jamboree. She has received numerous Scouting recognitions including the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, & Saint George Award. As a youth, Amy was a Girl Scout & earned 30 merit badges.

John started his Scouting career in 1959 as a Cub Scout in Denver Area Council’s Pack 8, graduating with the Arrow of Light Award. In 1960, he earned the BSA 50th Anniversary Achievement Award & wears this award on his uniform to this day. John’s scouter career started more than 25 years ago as a Den Leader & has held many positions in the pack & troop. At the district level, John has been a day camp director, BB gun shooting instructor & range officer, training team, merit badge counselor, & unit commissioner. He has been involved with University of Scouting, and its forerunners since 2007. He has been involved with the Special Needs District since its inception in 2006 & is involved with Troop 5280. John has received numerous awards including Outstanding Leadership for the Special Needs District, District Award of Merit, Distinguished Commissioner Award, Torch of Gold for Special Needs, John R. Kullman Award, & Silver Beaver.

Rick has been a scouter since 1997 & is the proud father of 2 Eagle Scouts. At the pack level he has been a den leader, Cubmaster, & committee member, and is currently an asst. scoutmaster, merit badge counselor, & Eagle Scout mentor for his troop. He has been the district Friends of Scouting chair. Rick is very active at the council level with positions as ASM (2010) & Scoutmaster (2013) for DAC Jamborees troops, staffed at Big Horn 8 times (twice as Scoutmaster), & staffed 6 Wood Badge courses. He has been the council chair for the Scout Show since 2015. Rick has received numerous awards including district Cubmaster of the Year, District Award of Merit, & Silver Beaver.

I am currently active as the charter representative for Troop 814 at St Joseph’s Episcopal Church. I am also an assistant scoutmaster & advancement chairman for Troop 748 in Lakewood. I have been active in DAC as a member of the advancement committee for over 20 years. In the past I have worked with the council camping committee, was an associate advisor for Tahosa Lodge OA for over 10 years & coached ceremonial teams, Have staffed 5 National Jamborees, & 2 NOAC conferences. I am a retired teacher & taught Auto Technology at Warren Tech for 32 years.

Dan has 17 years in scouting (3 years as a youth & 14 years as an adult). He is an Asst Scoutmaster for Troop 537. He attended Wood Badge (WE5-61-2-10). Dan is trained Religious Emblems Counselor for Ad Altare Dei (Roman Catholic) & was 2015 Council Camporee Religious Services Coordinator. He is also an associate chapter advisor for Running Antelope chapter of Order of the Arrow. Dan has received the following awards: Scouter of the Year (Cubmaster, Pack 478), Scouter of the Year (Troop 537), St. George Emblem for Catholic Adult service to youth (2012), & the District Award of Merit (2015).
David has been a scouter for 5.5 years. He is an Asst. Scoutmaster with Troop 989 & has been the acting scoutmaster for numerous troop events. He joined the Timberline training team in October 2012 & has taught courses for the district, University of Scouting, & Merit Badge College. David is NRA qualified in range safety, rifle, muzzle loading & home firearms safety, & has used those trainings at the troop, district & council level. David staffed the 2015 Council Camporee & is staffing Big Horn in June 2016. David is a member of the Order of the Arrow (brotherhood) & was awarded the district Boy Scout Leader of the Year for 2015.
Leon is an Eagle Scout & has been involved with scouting for 56 years (6 years as a youth & 50 as an adult). He is currently the Eleven Year Old Scout Leader for Troops 18, 161, 380, & 577. He has also been an Asst Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, Explorer Advisor, Cubmaster, District Commissioner, Den Leader, & Timberline Day Camp Director. Leon has been awarded the Exploring Silver Award, District Award of Merit (twice), & Silver Beaver.
Darrell joined Scouts in 1960, the 50th anniversary of BSA, & received his Eagle in 1967. After college he served as an Explorer Post Advisor in Nebraska & Illinois, & an Asst Scoutmaster in Montana. It wasn’t until his 6-year old wanted to join Tiger Cubs in 1993 that his Scouting career really took off. Since then he’s been a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Unit Commissioner, Roundtable Commissioner, Family FOS Chairman, Jamboree staff in 2010, & various training staffs. Among his proudest Scouting accomplishments is pinning the Eagle Medal on a number of boys, including his son Nate, who joined Cub Scouts when Darrell was Cubmaster, & earned their Eagle when he was their Scoutmaster. Darrell was the driving force behind the establishment of a Boy Scout license plate for the state of Colorado, which was one of his Wood Badge tickets. Darrell has received numerous awards including the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, & Scoutmaster of the Year in 2005.

Don has 35 years as a scout and scouter. In addition to his 10 years of service to Troop 4, he has been very active at the district level as part of the training team & training chair, outdoor chair, advancement team & advancement chair. Don has been part of council Camporee staffs since 1995. Since 2001, Don has been a regional member as an assessor for council camp approval for camp operations. He received his Wood Badge beads in 1995 & has staffed 3 courses. Don is a member of the Order of the Arrow (Vigil Honor).
Dick has been a scouter for 38 years & was involved as a youth for 10 years. His role is as a leader & adviser for troop outdoor activities (backpacking, camping, canoeing, climbing 14ers, etc.) & Order of the Arrow liaison for Troop 748. For Timberline District, he helps with advancement (Eagle BOR’s), & camping/activities (Klondike, Fall Camporee, Council Camporee).
