About Keystone Science School
Since 1976, Keystone Science School has welcomed students and campers to our historic campus in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, which serves as the home base for our diverse suite of programs. Our employees inspire curiosity and critical thinking through the lens of science. Whether leading a multi-night backpacking trip, instructing a school group on campus, or teaching kids to lead active, healthy lifestyles, each program incorporates hands-on science with outdoor, experiential education.
Current Job Opportunities
- Adventure Programs Instructor – Guide action-packed 6-12-day trips focused on outdoor skill building and leadership development. Trips take place in some of the most beautiful, inspiring locations in the West, like Rocky Mountain National Park, Moab, and the Great Sand Dunes. Requirements: Prior trip leading/guiding experience; Wilderness First Responder and CPR; Age 21+ with a clean driving record.
- Crossover Instructor – Work with Day and Residential Camp programs, balancing hands-on science, traditional camp fun, and a true Colorado adventure! Free housing available. Requirements: Prior experience working with kids; Wilderness First Aid and CPR; Age 21+ with a clean driving record; Males preferred.
- Summer CATCH Camp Lead Facilitator – Facilitate the CATCH curriculum, complete administrative tasks, plan activities, and teach students about health and exercise. Requirements: Prior experience working with kids; Wilderness First Aid and CPR; Age 21+ with a clean driving record.
- Kitchen Assistant – Work alongside Chef Nate to prepare food and serve meals to a wide range of KSS clients. This fun and rewarding entry-level position requires no prior food service experience and includes FREE housing for the Summer season. Requirements: Age 16+.
Working a summer at KSS requires enthusiasm and energy, a positive attitude, and a sincere care for children. Few environments are as special as camp, where kids are encouraged to broaden their perspectives and become a community as they engage in collaborative learning experiences.
