Camping and the outdoors is such an essential part of the Scouting experience, and we can assist your pack, troop, crew, or post with planning and running your next exciting adventure into the natural world; from summer camps to weekend programs to day-long introductory courses.


Celebrate the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act 50th Anniversary


Hi there,

2018 is the 50th Anniversary of the passage of theWild & Scenic River Act.

“Every River Has A Story. Every Great Adventure Story Has a River. Every River Story Includes Gear That Helped Us Make the Adventure Possible.”

It was great meeting at Outdoor Retailer. As I mentioned, we have joined forces with Jim Moss, Recreational Law to create a web platform for individuals to share their story of a meaningful river experience and the gear that made it possible. The web platform will allow individuals to post a story, note or sentence and upload a photo of the gear and the river to share. The user-generated contributions will be available on a story page for others to see and share.

Jim and I would appreciate your consideration in having your company participate. The anniversary project will run from March 1, 2018 to October 15, 2018. There are three ways your participation will help us promote this celebration project:

1. Join our growing list of sponsors
Lend your company’s name to our co-sponsor list. The logos of our co-sponsors will appear across a prominent scrolling banner at the bottom of the webpage, as well as listed in all other materials developed for distribution to the public and those who submit user content.

2. Send out one piece of gear
Donate one piece of equipment that will be awarded to a participant who submits a story. Individuals who submit a story and are approved for publication will automatically be entered into a drawing for one of the donated gear items. The winners will be announced on October 16, 2018. Winners will be asked to use the gear they won in an outdoor activity and submit photos to post via Instagram using the donating company’s hashtags and handles in their post.

3. Join us in promotion
Assist us in promoting this user-content recognition of this historic anniversary by relaying this project to your community and tribe through your social channels and direct communication. Promotion also includes placing a link to the anniversary webpage on your site during the period of time mentioned. Link and imagery will be provided.

I look forward to talking with you about this celebration and means to promote conservation of our rivers.

2018 Camp Cards are Coming!

How the Camp Card Sale Works:

  • The Camp Card is designed to help units fund their way to 2018 camp programs.
  • This is a risk-free, product sales project where all Scouts can earn their way to a Denver Area Council Camp, 2018 Philmont Trek, other activities or simply support unit programs or supply needs.
  • Each Camp Card will sell for only $5.00 to the public and will have multiple food, entertainment, and service discounts for the consumer to use throughout the year.
  • The participating unit will keep up to 50% commission from the sale of each Camp Card.
  • Commissions can be earned 3 ways! 1) Sell Camp Cards to receive 20% Commission, 2) Participate in the 2018 Scout Show to receive another 20% Commission, and 3) Attend a Camp Card Kickoff to receive 10% Commission.

Attend a Kickoff to receive 10% Commission AND your Camp Cards before March 1st! If you do not attend a kickoff, Camp Cards are available for pick up on or after March 1st at the Hamilton Scout Headquarters or at Roundtable.

The Scout Show will be on April 28, 2018 at the National Western Stock Show Complex. Register for a booth here to participate. Camp Cards also admit the entire family to the Scout Show!

New Program and App to Provide First Aid to Everyone in the US!

I wanted to make sure you were aware of a new, life-saving program called citizenAID North America (citizenAID), which is launching in the U.S. next week.

CitizenAID’s mission is simple: to save lives in times of crisis. In order to do so, citizenAID provides the public with both the tools and knowledge to save lives before first responders and medical professionals arrive on the scene.

In order to disseminate life-saving knowledge, citizenAID developed a free mobile application, which is now available on the App Store and Google Play. In addition to the app, citizenAID has created short, online courses taught by leading experts in safety and emergency medicine and comprehensive public treatment kits, which contain emergency response equipment – like tourniquets and medical supplies.

WASHINGTON – Today citizenAID North America (citizenAID) officially launched in the U.S., uniting comprehensive public treatment kits and online training and curriculum – all specific to disaster preparedness – in one place for the first time.

citizenAID is a system of immediate actions the public can take to save lives – either their own or those around them – should they be caught in any act of violence or act of nature where multiple people are injured. citizenAID was designed to educate, empower, and equip the average citizen to save lives during the time between point of wounding and professional medical care arriving.

In order to distribute this knowledge broadly, citizenAID has developed a free mobile application available now on the App Store and Google Play. In addition to the app, citizenAID also provides:

  1. Public Treatment Kits: citizenAID has created kits and wall stations in various sizes for schools, community spaces, offices, and public transportation hubs.
  2. Online Training & Curriculum: citizenAID offers online training that leverages the knowledge of our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), who have spent decades working in emergency response. This curriculum will be available for download on our website in early February 2018.
