Troop 342 Green Mountain Christian Church is having an open house for Webelos

Troop 342 would like to invite Webelos Scouts and parents to an Open House Monday, December 5th, 2016, at  6:45 p.m.  We meet at Green Mountain Christian Church (10700 West Exposition Avenue, Lakewood, CO  80226); please take the driveway to the left of the church to access the back of the building, where we will be meeting in the gymnasium. There are maps on the bottom of our webpage:  This invitation is open to both first year and second year Webelos.  RSVPs are appreciated, but are not necessary.  Just come!

Our meeting for the evening will be showcasing our boy-led program as the scouts have prepared activities for the visiting Webelos.  This interactive program will allow prospective scouts to work and play with our troop while participating in some scouting activities that should be both fun and educational. Scouts will be outside, so dress appropriately. (Arrow of Light requirement 4)

The Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters will be available for Scoutmaster conferences (AoL req. 6).

Parents have the opportunity to interact with other parents and Scouting leaders. We will gladly help you to assist your son in making a joining decision.

Additionally, both first year and second year Webelos Scouts and their leaders are invited to attend the Klondike Derby event on Saturday, February 4th  at Golden Gate Canyon State Park.  Webelos Scouts should only attend the Saturday program, and must register for the event with their Pack/Den (not the Troop).  There will be a program specifically for Webelos, but there will be time for your scouts to “hang out” with the troop.

Scouts and parents are always welcome to attend any Troop 342 meeting, and we encourage “surprise” visits by all potential members.  It’s the best way for Scouts and parents to actually see a troop program in action, without program designed specifically to entice new members.  Seeing us do what we do on any given week should provide the insight that you need to choose the best troop for your Scout and family.

Please feel free to contact our troop with any questions or concerns.  Also, “like” Troop 342—Lakewood on FaceBook and visit!
